Privacy Policy

A clear explanation of how Warranty Box handles your data.

We do not collect data

Warranty Box has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. The app does not send purchase details, receipts, photos, recognized text, notification preferences, or usage records to the developer or third-party servers. The app has no network data-transfer feature.

Information stored on your device

Product names, categories, purchase dates, prices, currencies, stores, notes, warranty terms, and reminder choices are stored in the app's local SwiftData database. Receipt and product photos stay inside the app container.

For the Home Screen widget, Warranty Box writes a local summary of up to six purchases expiring within 30 days to an App Group controlled by the same developer. This information remains on the device.

On-device receipt recognition

When you select or capture a receipt image, Apple's Vision framework may recognize text on the device. Warranty Box uses the result only to suggest a purchase date and amount for your review. Raw recognized text is not stored separately and is not uploaded.

Permissions and Apple system features

Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a receipt or product photo. Photos are read through Apple's system photo picker only after you select them. Notification access is requested only when you enable warranty reminders.

Product names may be added to the device's local Spotlight index. PDF documents are generated locally, and the system share sheet opens only when you request an export. Shared copies are handled by the destination you choose.

Retention and deletion

Your data remains on the device until you delete it. Deleting a purchase removes its associated photos, pending notifications, and local Spotlight entry. Uninstalling Warranty Box deletes information stored in the app container. Copies exported or backed up outside the app must be deleted from those destinations separately.

Children's privacy

Warranty Box does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future release changes how data is handled, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that functionality is released.
